Tessilator :
I too thought i was insane. all the women in my family taught me to think my dislocated joints, pain, dental problems etc etc were normal, because they thought it WAS normal. when I was 14, I had my first spinal surgery to correct a herniated disc. no injury, to trauma to the area, no clear sign. at the time, I was the youngest patient my surgeon had worked on that had not been in a car accident. as I got older, it got worse, pregnancy make it worse, working made it worse. there was no clear indication as to why. by the time I was 24, I just thought I was insane like my mother and great grandmother and fell in to addiction.
today, im 37 and 7 years clean. come to find out, I have something real. genetic mutations and broken proteins that are specifically passed from mother to daughter. I have lists, and spreadsheets, and notebooks documenting eating habits, pain areas, sprains and dislocation, rough periods....out of 8 specialists I saw, ONLY ONE took me seriously and kept digging. there are no cures, only maintenance and diligence. I thought it was all normal, my mother thought it was all normal. but it wasnt, and I only found out because I said fuck what people say, I choose me....
