@griffwild: What do you do if you find a fawn in the wild? Let Griff Griffith break it down for you in this edu-taining way. Every spring and summer, people come across fawns curled up alone in the grass or forest and worry they've been abandoned. In most cases, they haven't. Mother deer often leave their fawns hidden for hours at a time while they feed nearby. The fawn's spotted coat helps it blend into its surroundings, and staying still helps keep it safe from predators. If the fawn looks healthy and isn't in immediate danger, the best thing you can do is leave it alone and keep pets and people away from the area. #naturevibes #wildlife #naturelovers #environmentaleducation
Can confirm. Mama deer used to leave their fawns in my parents’ backyard all the time. We’d watch them from the living room window til their mama came back a couple hours later. Usually they’d just lay there and be good, but sometimes they would get brave and wander around.

do they try to lay down again closeby when they get up and run away? I was biking on the road and saw one in the field, I stopped where I was just to observe and it ran. I was worried the mother wouldn't find it again

Nope. I saw that video. The doe tore that woman up. Really river danced on her. Not my dream to be a dance floor for a river dancing deer.

Okay, got it! If you see a cute cuddly baby fawn all by its lonesome self, don’t touch it. Don’t pet it, and no selfies! 😌

I JUST saw a video where a couple was busted for having a faun at their house. It was an "orphan" they picked up.
