Letting your own father die to a TORNADO when you're a literal superpowered being is laughable. Idc what Snyder fans say about "his dad didn't want him giving up his secret", thats such a shit poor excuse when YOUR DADS LIFE IS AT STAKE. Imagine if Spiderman cared THAT much about people figuring out his identify.. everyone on the train in Spiderman 2 wouldve died bc he was too busy hiding and putting his mask back on instead of saving the train.

I think there were many steps in his the pick up Superman, as well as Zack Snyder’s. I think there were times when Henry Cavill Superman seemed to be a little too careless what it came to minimizing casualties, and I think that David Superman had mixed priorities when it came to protecting the sanctity of all life. I think it’s pretty stupid and silly and it took me out of the movie to see David Superman rescue a damn squirrel when this giant kaiju beast is stomping around in an attempt to destroy the city.

Tbh I didn’t have a problem with this in Man of Steel, I just wish that they showed the consequences of killing in bvs. Post crisis Superman exiled himself because he regretted taking life. In the DCEU he does one loud yell and it’s never talked about again in the verse. We never get a scene that shows what Superman stands for

Let me guess your gonna pull up Superman #22 a comic retconed by DC in late 90s… even before DC retconed it like it never happened they actually debunked the “he’ll kill if necessary” logic when they made a comic straight up referencing Superman #22 saying that Clark got traumatized by that so bad that it made him not kill to the point that he would let LOIS die over it refusing to kill JOKER of all people for it lmaoo him letting the kryptonians die is the START of his killing rule not the end… all of this happened in (ACTION COMICS #719)😂

As someone who doesn't want Superman to kill, I'm not opposed to him killing...BUT it should come at great emotional and ethical cost to him...which was NOT covered in MOS or BVS. He had a moment, but afterwards it's like he didn't feel the weight of his actions.

How are we pushing past the fact that Henry’s superman literally let a building full of people fall and let thousands die while trying to aura farm in front of Zod? Like he did not have to do that he could’ve saved all those people but he didn’t and that’s not what superman does

It’s interesting how the fandom has projected Batman’s no kill rule on to Superman. Pre man of steel this wasn’t a conversation or talking point people even discussed. It was understood that Superman sometimes killed, he generally avoids it, but he has and will kill.
