Too many emergencies. Too many animals with nowhere else to go. When we finally got there, we found him. Emaciated. Skin on bones. Ribs, spine, hips all showing. He’s so weak he can’t move well. But the moment he saw us, he tried. He took a few shaky steps toward us like he knew we were there for him. We reached him. He’s waiting for us right now. The garbage dump is not very far. The transport we need is available. A trailer for rent. The cost? Only $120. That’s it. That’s the wall between him and safety. But we’re a small rescue. And after so many rescues back-to-back, we have no money left for transport. No trailer of our own. No fuel budget.
