I am lucky to be old. I have Spina bifida. My mom admitted that if she had been told beforehand, and if the doctors had suggested it, that she would have chosen abortion. It was, however, not legal then. My legacy of 3 beautiful sons and five grandchildren are grateful.

That is heartbreaking, one of my good friends has a daughter who is 11 and has Trisomy 18 and she’s doing fine. She did have to have a couple of heart surgeries when she was a baby and an ear surgery but other than that she’s doing good. She is a beautiful, happy child thriving in 5th grade.

when I got this test, it said my son was going to have trisomy 18 (which is usually fatal), and almost 15 years later, I have a perfectly healthy teenage boy. those tests are so incredibly flawed, I can't imagine making a decision like that based on a test that rarely gets it right.
