nit de l'olla #Altea Castell de l’Olla, que se celebra el sábado más cercano a la festividad de San Lorenzo, se ha convertido a lo largo de los años en un espectáculo muy reconocido y alabado. Consigue citar a más de 50.000 personas, a las que deleitar con un estallido de luz y pólvora. Esta fiesta, que es mucho más que unos fuegos artificiales, tiene lugar en el mar Mediterráneo que baña Altea. Desde una plataforma se lanza el Castell de l’Olla, y esto hace que nazca del mar mismo, reflejándolo en el agua y aumentando su magia. Esta maravilla alteana cuenta con más de 30 años de historia, y cada vez más, aúna diferentes embarcaciones en la bahía de Altea para poder contemplar el espectáculo en todo su esplendor. El evento, que ha ido creciendo a lo largo de los años, nace de un homenaje al pirotécnico local Blas Aznar, “el tio Blai, el coheter”, fallecido hace años. Fue lanzado un castillo de fuegos artificiales especial en su honor y desde entonces, el Castell de l’Olla ha ido madurando hasta llegar a lo que es hoy en día. El Castell de l’Olla está reconocido con la distinción del premio al Mérito Turístico, en la categoría de oro de la edición de 1999, otorgado por el Patronato Provincial de Turismo de la Costa Blanca y en 2007, declarado Fiesta de Interés Turístico de la Comunitat por la Generalitat Valenciana.
