I don’t usually take the touristic train but I visited Marseille for just a few hours and couldn’t decide where to go… so we’d thought why not! In the end, loved the ride! It checked so many must-see points in Marseille without the stress of choosing. We took circuit number one, which costs 10 €/adult, and it’s honestly a great way to get a feel of the city in a short time. Here are the main stops and highlights along the way: 📍 Vieux Port – the heart of Marseille, where fishermen sell fresh catches and boats line the harbor. 📍 Fort Saint Jean & Fort Saint Nicolas – two historic guardians of the port. 📍 Palais du Pharo – Napoleon III’s palace with stunning sea views. 📍 Abbaye Saint Victor – one of the oldest monuments in the city. 📍 Corniche Kennedy – the scenic seaside road with breathtaking panoramas. 📍 Pont de la Fausse Monnaie – a viewpoint over turquoise waters. 📍 Château Valmer – a beautiful villa surrounded by Mediterranean gardens. 📍 Vallon des Auffes – a tiny fishing port tucked away like a secret. 📍 Îles du Frioul & Château d’If – visible in the distance, made famous by The Count of Monte Cristo. 📍 Vallon de l’Oriol – elegant Marseille villas clinging to the hillside. 📍 Notre-Dame de la Garde – the “Bonne Mère” perched at 162 m above sea level, offering a 360° view of the whole city. After a well-deserved pause at the top (trains run every 30 minutes), the ride continues back down through the city, finishing with a glimpse of the iconic Ferry Boat crossing the Vieux Port. #travelfrance #marseille #traveltips #thingstodo #explore
