Every time I speak out about misogyny, I inevitably get comments telling me that I hate men. But that has never been true. I don’t hate men. In fact, there are men in my life who I love deeply I also love men who speak out about misogyny. Men who challenge harmful behaviours when they see it. Men who call out their mates when they’re being disrespectful. Men who listen to women instead of dismissing them. Men who recognise that sexism still exists and actively choose not to contribute to it. The men in these clips are doing exactly that. And we need more of it. Because misogyny doesn’t disappear when good people stay silent. It disappears when people are willing to challenge it. When someone says, “That’s not funny.” When someone says, “That’s not okay.” When someone is willing to risk a moment of discomfort to stand up for what’s right. Women have been speaking about harassment, sexism, discrimination and gender-based violence for decades. The problem isn’t that women haven’t spoken up. The problem is that too many people still aren’t listening. And that’s why men speaking up matters. Much of this behaviour happens in spaces women aren’t part of. In group chats, at work, at parties, around dinner tables, and in conversations many women never hear. That’s why we need men who are willing to challenge it in the moment. So to the men in these clips, and to the many men out there who continue to challenge misogyny when they see it, thank you. The men in this video aren’t the problem. They’re part of the solution. Because every time a man challenges misogyny, calls out harmful behaviour, or refuses to stay silent, it sends a message that this behaviour isn’t normal, acceptable, or something women should be expected to tolerate. And that’s exactly the kind of change we need more of! After seeing ashleylouisejames incredible video like this I had to create my own ✨
