i remember my mom saying « wear more backless tops, because i can’t. do it for me. » that’s because she has a bad scoliosis and a huge scar on her spine. since she’s 16 she’s not been able to wear ONE single backless top-dress… probably ashamed or more overthinking about what the people might think of her back. but at the end of the day it’s how you feel and not you should feel, that matters. so i always says “wear it. we don’t care about the others mom”. she wore a backless dress for her birthday, first time of her life.

Wait guys I didn’t know we had this is this a good time to share that I’m highly scared of my scoliosis especially since I don’t have a back brace I try to sit straight but it’s difficult and hurts after a bit and a good brace is expensive so idk but I just wanted to talk abt it love yall!

I have a friend named stella who grew up performing in dance and ballet. She loved the color pink and just how gentle and kind it made her feel. due to her condition with scoliosis she isn’t able to continue this dream. I always hope she understands what she is still gentle, she is still kind, she is still a beautiful young girl even if dance isn’t still apart of her life.

As a scoliosis survivor this means so much to me. My scar is beautiful and I cary it as my battle scar reminding me that I can get through painful things. It might not always be easy but in the end the painful things we go through make us stronger ❤️
