We carefully examine Jurassic shale durin our fossil hunts! 🏝️ Sometimes, the shale contains some utterly magical fossils! 🤞🏻 Other times, it is completely empty! Would you rather find a fossilised fish or a dinosaur bone? 🦴 🤯

Exposing an ammonite fossil and a perfect Jurassic Belemnite deathbed (Squid-like creature) which was in a large loose shale slab🦑🦑 This is the ‘Belemnite Guard’, which was the tough inner part of the belemnite 🏝 The soft tissue rarely preserved properly, however many great examples have been found in other parts of the world 🌎 For more videos, check out my YouTube channel ‘Yorkshire.Fossils’! If anyone would a rock containing a fossil to crack open yourself at home, or an already prepared specimen, please message the page directly or visit our website Yorkshirefossils.NET. Here is a suspicious golden rock that we found on a recent fossil hunting beach walk! We opened the nodule up with our hammer! 🏝🌊 The surrounding shale is softer than the nodule and is easily broken away. Inside the nodule, some beautiful golden and calcitic eleganticeras ammonites from the Jurassic 😍🦑 These ammonites are around 185 Million Years Old 💀🏝 Thank you for supporting our page! 🐊 #natural #nature #fossil #fossils #ancient #animals #art #ammonite #ammonites #dinosaur #scientist #minerals #paleontology #whitby #geologist #dorset #geology #charmouth #jurassic #yorkshire #beach #coast #sea #water #squid #fyp
