So to sum it up it damages the engine crankshaft aswell as battery. All because some group thinks it will save the planet. All I can say is the planet is fine it's the stupid people within regulation that are harming humanity, same with Wind Turbines and yeh sea, road, aviation all use diesel but aviation use mixture of fuels. So it's another flawed design All because governments legislation govern all regulation. Governments need to stay out of industry cause there only mindset is to put fear and taxes on you and the science is all government funded.

The primary benefit of stop start (as with any prevention of idling) is not reducing overall CO2 it’s reducing build up of nitrogen oxides, particulate matter etc in the urban populated areas where idling often occurs. Idling does have noticeable negative effects on public health inc children’s respiratory health. It is more of a health issue than a climate change one and I care far more about what asthma experts think about it than mechanics.
