Throat singing a mantra for success, obstacle removal, momentum, prosperity, and auspicious beginnings. This is a side by side comparison of my standard singing voice and my throat singing voice. At times, I get comments asking why I don't just sing with my regular voice. The answer, there are hundreds of millions, if not billions of people out there who use their standard singing voice. Throat singing is for amplification and it takes years to fully mature and develop. Ancient shamans used it to channel the voice of the sky as it was developed in mimicking the sounds of thunder. Thunder was believed to be the voice of the sky, and the bridge between the heavens (non-physical planes) and Earth (physical plane.) The energies I invoke are from non-physical planes and with throat singing, my voice becomes the sound that bridges the physical and non-physical. It is a similar practice to how tibetans use their version of throat singing, for meditative, ritualistic and ceremonial purposes. This mantra invokes the energy of Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and guardian of thresholds, pathways, and new beginnings. “Vakratunda Mahākāya” praises the immense radiant form of Ganesha, described as shining with the brilliance of millions of suns, while asking for all blockages to be cleared from every undertaking in life. This mantra is traditionally recited before important actions, ceremonies, journeys, performances, business ventures, creative work, and spiritual practices. It is associated with clearing stagnation, restoring forward movement, increasing clarity, and creating auspicious conditions for success and manifestation.
