I worked with Asian women and they don’t waste money on non-essential things. They spend their money on their kids education and in their business. They don’t care about $600 tennis shoes or $200 fake nails. That’s why they succeed.

I stopped going because I noticed how they would treat non black customers vs how they treated us. They would go out their way to be nice talk during the service, give free drinks/gifts,allow them to go ahead of waiting customers but for us it was opposite I was lucky if I didn’t have to pay before service or get something to drink. Then the last time I ever got my nails done I was treated horrible by another nail tech I felt so unwelcome

As an Asian, I want to clarify that nail and beauty salons are not always a primary part of our culture because many of us are accustomed to handling daily hair care, skincare, and grooming at home. Because of this, Asian owned businesses often rely on a broader customer base to succeed in the U.S. I also think some Asian communities are not as supportive of one another as people might assume, and that mindset can make it difficult to expect support beyond our own communities. While that tendency exists in some circles, it does not represent everyone. Many of us in the younger generation recognize this and are working to build a more supportive and inclusive culture for people of all backgrounds.
