Religion: Blend of traditional beliefs with Christianity. Traditional priests "trɔnuawo" and shrines to gods like Mawu (Supreme God) and Sogbo (Thunder god) still exist. Economy & Craft Fishing: Anlo-Keta lagoon and coastal towns like Denu/Keta are major fishing hubs. Smoked fish from Anlo is sold across West Africa. Kente: Ewe kente from Agotime-Kpetoe is distinct — often features figurative motifs and symbols woven into the cloth, unlike Ashanti kente. Agriculture: Volta Region grows rice, shallots, cassava, and produces some of Ghana’s best cocoa. Language Eʋegbe: Has 4+ major dialects. Anlo, Tongu, Vedome, etc. Anlo Ewe is considered the standard for writing. Proverbs: Ewe culture is heavy on proverbs. Example: “Ne ame ade nya asi, wotsɔna asi fia afima" (If someone knows how to do something, they show it with their hands).
