No one had heard of Uji just 10 years ago. These days, with the popularity of matcha, there are as many tourists around Byōdō-in as in downtown Kyoto... 😓 That said, Uji is full of charm and offers the perfect one-day trip from Kyoto.

I actually did Wazuka on my last trip in Kyoto for the matcha and I loved it there. I also, did your hometown last year and I fell in love with the people there. Never felt so welcomed and loved. I definitely want to go back again.
