It’s shot to scope, Nolan is aware there’s only 24 theaters in America that can show IMAX 70mm, the film will be centrally framed to cater to all aspect ratios, you will just be losing extra periphery. Personally gonna check it out in IMAX and 70mm

Format preference is 1.43 IMAX (70mm or GT), 70mm (the movie was shot on film, so seeing it projected in film is advantageous over a large Laser IMAX), IMAX laser, LIeMAX, Dolby. Also note that IMAX can tweak out Nolan’s sound. A normal 70mm has the advantage here because he uses normal 5.1. He never uses Dolby mixes for his audio so Dolby will not have all the speakers operational during the movie

Just came out from watching it, 3am (Dublin, CA) showing. Unique experience coming out to the Sun rising and going to get breakfast,totally worth it! Looking for tickets on the other IMAX near me (SF,CA) probably for next month since is sold out for weeks.

The resolution on regular imax is 3k while 70mm (non-imax) is 12k!!!!

I’ve seen a few local theatres who don’t usually have 70MM but will have it for this movie. The seating is pretty bad & I’m just not sure if it’ll be a legit 70MM with good quality. Do u think it’ll be legit or are they just getting a bigger screen that won’t be as good quality? What’s the difference?

I opted for regular IMAX, the only imax 70mm is 85 minutes away from me and i would have to pay out of pocket because i already pay for amc stubs and that theater is Cinemark

No matter how you see it, everyone will benefit from the massive amount of detail captured on the stock 65mm. 70/15 IMAX is a 1:1 copy from the master without the use of a digital intermediate.

Got 70 mm imax it will be the second movie I have watched in this format, first being project Hail Mary, I am ready. I might MIGHT get tickets to watch it opening day in cinemarks’ XD format because I won’t watch it until a week after it comes out
