It’s so interesting you mentioned this and made me the think about the whole issue in gychonolgy that I came across recently on TikTok. Long story short, gynecologists were doing surgery which removed certain parts of the female anatomy which woman have not been consenting to. There this lady on TikTok who actually came forward about this and ended up having amendments to some of the practices for women to get exactly what they request in gynecology surgery’s (patient consents forms changed, 9 texts books changed and maintenance sub certification changed). Unfortunately this change was not easy as the drs didn’t listen and neither did the American board of OBI. She took matters to her own hands and did research with her father as what the surgeon did to her affected her sexual function. What’s worse is women in the comments confirming that this was still happening to them in 2020. The surgery was labia manora (which is inner lips of the vulva) which she consented to and the surgeon ended up removing her labia completely.
