First thank you 💜 to @Jelly Roll for creating a song for anyone that verbalizing the things thay can be hard to admit in a world that says you’re fine. It’s not that bad. It could be worse. Thats a lonely road when you think your alone. As the song implies, I am not okay. Every day, I try very hard to push through and move forward, ignoring the negativity. However, it's not just the people—it's the fact that I almost died in an accident that wasn't my fault and could have happened to anyone. Ultimately would have just a matter of time the dog was unwell.I was simply unlucky. Now, I come to work daily and hear people criticize me for something unavoidable. I understand why some people are upset, feeling the dog didn't get a fair chance. But the hostility directed at me is unwarranted. I nearly died, and it's dismissed as part of the job. No one signs up to be mauled by a dog with potential mental issues. I’m belittled by those who haven't experienced what I did. Some were there when I was bl🩸ding out on the vet room floor as they tried to get it under control . They don't deal with comforting angry family members or managing my own anger in this toxic situation, where people suggest it was my fault. While some leaders commend my mental resilience, they also expect me to calmly address those who attack me verbally. The dog's supporters can't see its issues, so they blame me. Ironically, these same people would wear a badge in mourning had I not survived, yet they now treat me poorly. Despite being targeted with nasty comments since returning to work two months ago and still undergoing physical therapy, I'm expected to maintain professionalism and create a happy work environment. ##itsokaytonotbeokay##MentalHealth##mentalhealthmatters##MentalHealthAwareness##soldier##military##storytime ##womeninuniform##airforce##maines##army##navy##coastguard##spaceforce##k9
