those rotary sharpeners never really went away. They just became more compact, and covered by plastic materials.

The 1921 one is my fav. We had a similar one and I loved to use it, the new figure in it is when the pencil is sharp it stops sharpening it more.

I've used the 1921 design and it's just superior. I hate using one of the horrible small sharpeners now.
