@betweenthefieldz: We noticed these ants on our patio the other night forming what looked like little star patterns—almost like they were gathering in clusters instead of moving in lines. My daughter taught me this can sometimes be a sign of defensive behavior, often seen when ants detect another colony nearby and begin preparing to protect their territory.
