I’ve pioneered a hybrid uhaul/movers approach. I’ve started hiring individual people from eg. taskrabbit who will show up without a car. 1 person is like $50 for an hour. You get your own uhaul, hire 2 people to move everything out, drive across town, hire 2 more people to move everything in. 4 people and a low mileage uhaul ends up being like $250

I moved five times in five years in San Francisco. I always boxed the stuff up myself but got movers. Your friends do not want to help you carry that crap up walk ups for pizza later every time I’m in Manhattan I see a piece of cake, movers and their pink trucks. Good branding 😭
