@wetheservers: Bottle Service: opening and serving a bottle of wine at the table🍷 Notice how I’m using open-handed service throughout the entire process to give guests the space and respect they deserve. Small details like this elevate the experience and make service feel more professional. (YES, traditionally bottle service is from the right side of the guest, but I wanted to demonstrate open-handed service from the left in this video because guests aren’t always accessible from the right due to table positioning/sitting in a booth). Also notice how I didn’t pour full glasses of wine 🤔 Unless the bottle is being split many ways (6-10), you don’t want to empty it right away. It’s nice to do smaller pours so everyone can have a little more later on 👍 And lastly, one of the biggest misconceptions about bottle service is that you pour the taster’s glass first. That’s not how this process works. The ladies’ glasses are poured first (oldest to youngest), followed by the gentlemen and the host (taster/person who ordered the bottle) receives their glass last. My name is Ellie and I’m building a server training course that will be released later this year! This is so informative! Only thing I would add for newer servers is you don’t wanna pour a full glass when serving the wine, 3 oz to each guest is good, and you can continue to pour as the service progresses. Unlike when someone orders a glass and you give them all 5 oz at once
