Patient is shy and timid but tolerant of gentle handling. On intake, this puppy was diagnosed with: Severe demodectic mange Roundworm infection Lyme disease positive Abscess requiring treatment Despite everything he’s dealing with, this puppy remains gentle and allows care, showing potential to improve with the right support. Treatment will require ongoing medical management, including parasite control, skin therapy for demodex, antibiotics and/or wound care for the abscess, and monitoring for any Lyme-related complications. At this age, prognosis is fair to good with appropriate treatment and a low-stress environment. However, the shelter setting may hinder both medical and behavioral recovery. This puppy would benefit greatly from rescue placement to continue treatment and decompress in a more stable environment. With proper care, they have a real chance at recovery and a better outcome.
