@nssastronomy2: TrES-2b is a gas giant exoplanet located about 750 light-years from Earth in the constellation Draco. It orbits very close to its host star, making it a “hot Jupiter” with extremely high temperatures of around 1,500–1,600°C. Despite this, it reflects less than 1% of the light that hits it, making it the darkest known exoplanet ever discovered. It appears almost completely black because its atmosphere absorbs most incoming light. It was discovered in 2006 by the Trans-Atlantic Exoplanet Survey (TrES) project #universe #space #Astronomy #planet #fyp
