Any decent human being would feel sorry for what happened to Henry Nowak and for the life that was lost. But where were those voices when a young Saudi student was attacked and killed by a racist criminal in the UK? He came to Cambridge to study English, never imagining that his life would be taken simply because he was a foreigner. Why didn’t we hear the same level of outrage, sympathy, and attention then? Does the life of a young man from a different country matter less? Does the color of his skin or his nationality make his death less tragic? Every victim of racist violence deserves justice, compassion, and equal concern. Anything less is hypocrisy.
