As someone who moved here from the south 12 years ago, you don’t have to deal with bad service, you have to learn how to stand up for yourself. When he didn’t buzz you up - leave. Waiting longer upstairs - no, leave. When you didn’t have confirmation about the price - ask. I grew up thinking that speaking up for myself meant I was rude or unkind but now I see how it’s actually better for everyone involved to be upfront and honest.
