@bassiekumalo: The Power of a Mother's Foresight ✨ Many people who know me well know that I am actually an introvert by nature. Being in the public space is something that, even to this day, still daunts me. But looking back, I see the absolute brilliance and intentionality of my mother. In her wisdom, she was determined to pull me out of my cocoon and protect my siblings and me from the dangers of idle time. She firmly believed that "idle time is a dangerous thing to a young mind." Because of her, there was no time to idle. She kept us entirely plugged into our community; whether it was the youth club, the church choir, teaching Sunday school, going to camp, or entering pageants. She saw a potential in me that the stage could bring to light, and she used those avenues to keep us safe, grounded, and focused on a better future. Hearing how that foundation has ripple effects today reminds me of the incredible weight and beauty of motherhood.
