Tipped employees in Tennessee still only make 3.15 an hour and that is not a typo

So does that mean my hourly rate also is going to be calculated for that if I was making $15 an hour, I should now be making 30

As an Oklahoman myself that will vote yes on raising minimum wage, I’m afraid that others in our state have been convinced that their burger 🍔 is going to be 25.00 so they will vote no overwhelmingly!

When pay hasn't kept up with inflation, $15 is more than I make.

Should be, sadly only monopolies like Walmart, McDonald's and etc benefit from it. Still it should go up but small businesses can't really afford it so it hurts them but really with inflation being so horrendous upping minimum wage should happen even if it hurts local mom and pops.

i feel like if the part of the bill about it being tied to the national inflation rate deter people who were on the fence about it. I feel like if it was the oklahoma inflation rate or didn’t have anything increasing after we got to 15$ it would’ve been passed

If they pay $7.25/hr and you can't live off that, go somewhere else for higher pay. The place of employment will eventually raise their own wages bc they need people to run the business. I've seen that a lot in my area.

I’m glad you did some research and mentioned numbers which were accurate. So how many of those people are getting paid that as part time jobs for just some spending money and not trying to live off of it? What people don’t realize if the wages go up that high small towns will lose a lot of service and small businesses will lose part time employees. Unemployment will go up as well as prices for goods. Also raise the minimum wage then roughly 35% of the state will be making minimum wage because the people making $15 an hour won’t get a raise.
