This is an extremely tragic incident, and no amount of condemnation is enough. The deteriorating law and order situation in Birmingham has left us with a strong sense of insecurity. The police appear to be failing badly in providing protection to the public and maintaining peace and order. However, this is now an important test for the police to see how quickly they can arrest the criminals, bring them before the court of justice, and ensure they are punished according to the law. Whoever the offenders may be, they deserve no leniency whatsoever, and they should be given the harshest punishment so that it serves as a clear and effective warning to other criminal elements.
