Good on him for taking the time to write and send you the poem. It sucks you have to have that conversation now but if you aren’t feeling it then better he knows now. It can still turn into a good friendship. I had similar thing with one of my friends. We met through a social group we were in but after couple times hanging out said she didn’t think anything would happen between us. I said ok and accepted things wouldn’t head in that direction. Since then we still hangout every month and send texts/ memes throughout the week 9 years later. Never was one of those oh maybe feelings would come about just straight friendship.

Love comes unexpectedly, you should watch verticals 😏😅 no seriously, just let him know politely that you’re not interested romantically at the moment, if he’s willing to be around as a friend he can go ahead but you don’t want him to expect more from you.
