•Equate payment to the output done (piece work). •Provide a workers register for each worker to sign, and an activity schedule showing number of workers allocated for each activity. •Any variations should be revised and documented by the PM/technical team. •Storekeeper should be available to check inventory on materials received and used on site everyday (including tools). •Do RFQ for different hardwares to confirm material prices. •Site engineers to be available when concrete mixing is done and approve the right ratios to whichever class of concrete is to be done

What do you mean by hidden costs.? If work is not in the project scope and is approved by the project manager/Architect then the contractor has every right to price it for payment. Variation is the term in Building contacracts

solution is to be available mostly,combine piece rate and time rate.identify slow workers and terminate them/exit politely off site.
