That sounds like a rough running engine. Cylinder might have gotten damaged or piston damaged. Engine could no longer combust. Lost power and tried to land probably

Someone had said one theory was that he became disoriented and was flying upside down. The lights he was seeing were on his control panels. I don’t really believe this theory though.

re: theory 3 - he didn’t sound like he was the most law-abiding pilot to begin with. but even the most logical theories don’t factor that sound into their explanation. it sounds like strange radar/technology to me rather than scraping
