Were about to becone first time buyers going through shared ownership. we could have done 45% but decided to go for 25% just to see how it goes and make sure we are happy! were hoping to complete middle of june and i am so excited! plus the mortgage and rent is still cheaper than private renting!!! we plan to staircase and hopefully own 100% in the next 5 years x

Our first house was shared ownership and was a massive help in getting us on the ladder 🥰 we were there for 3 years and then managed to move and buy a house traditionally. Sold within 24 hours of going on the market too ! I actually miss it 😂

As a single mum, shared ownership was the right choice for me. It was similar to buying with a partner and still only owning 50% but I have the luxury of a new build house and the ability to buy out the other party as I can afford. Definitely the right choice for me!

we're just waiting to complete on our shared ownership house. We were similar to you, in the fact houses we could afford were complete refurbs or didn't offer what we needed. we aim to buy the other 55% in 5 years time
