I understand the love for the actor and even some aspects of the character of Lu Feng (same way readers can love a terrible character in a dark romance) but when you break down what has happened..fuck. LuFeng has raped Yichen multiple times so far (their first time, in his office and in ep.9), he has stalked him, pressured him, paralyzed his brother, etc. I hate when people say Lu Feng deserves better because they see his obsession as effort and his toxic dominating intensity as passion unfortunately and they view Yichen’s struggle as never putting LuFeng first and letting LuFeng make all the sacrifices on his own. But Yichen is allowed to struggle with his family and the idea of losing them. He is allowed to push if he needs to and choose to try to preserve the family he has. That is his freedom and his choice as an individual, as is LuFeng’s to leave and find someone who is able to choice him every time and does not have the struggle Yichen has. Instead of choosing himself or choosing to give Yichen the space and support to figure out his own journey, he has forced his hand and made things harder for him. The sacrifices LuFeng made were HIS decisions. And Yichen owes him nothing, as much as it may seem fucked up. Idk,I am a Yichen supporter and while I can separate reality from fantasy which allows me to still love LuFeng in ways, I am not a LuFeng supporter at the end of the day. If they were a heterosexual couple, there would be no questions on whether Yichen is a victim and LuFeng is an obsessive, controlling, rapist. Enjoy the show but please use discernment when discussing the very real themes in the show.✨💕
