My Card shop gave people a choice at the register: we cut the seal in store and you buy it for MSRP or we sell it to you with the seal at scalper price.

If you are collecting sealed just to collect, then you should have no issue paying a premium to get that sealed box you want. If not, you’re either a scalper, or a scalper playing the long game. Either way, you’re still a scalper

In Japan, the cashiers cut the packs open at the top when purchased, To prevent scalping. Now they're thinking of adding purchasing limits attached to a govt ID, to prevent adults from buying them all.
