we filed our taxes 6 months ago. we are expecting a refund. on May 18th we got a cp05 form that told us that return was being held. did not give us a reason why. we have received no further correspondence notices. I filled out the forms for a taxpayer advocate weeks ago. no response. I submitted a congressional inquiry two weeks ago. no response. I have called the IRS phone numbers dozens of times and have never been able to get through with the exception of one time when the person told me that the clock would now start over and had another 180 days before the IRS was required to respond to me. insane!

I filed on 2/2, kept getting 60 day letters and when I called they said nothing to do but wait. Contacted TAS last month, they found a 100 discrepancy in FTW and told me to file an amended return which was done on 5/20. I was told by my rep last night they “reached out to the IRS with an expedite request to release the freeze code on the refund.” do you think that will happen quickly since it came from TAS?

I filed 2/2 and here we are. This is insane. Oh and if you call the IRS you have to play ring around the rosie with the automated thingy and when you finally get transferred it says "due to high caller volume we cant process your call try again another time) click* 😤😤😤😤

Filed Feb 4. Got an identity verification in March. Then a 60 day notice on April 6. Contacted my congressman on June 10. Still nothing. Got my state but not my federal😅 no update either. Couldn’t get ahold of IRS either which is why i reached out to congressman.
