The thought of grabbing a blow dryer for each foil is why I haven’t tried it 😅 I like to pretend air touch doesn’t exist

Bro. Just weave the slice. It’s the same dang thing. And I can’t get close enough to the scalp with air touch. And it takes 3 times longer

Air touch changed my life , i thought all these things as well as “teasing does the same thing “ , it really doesnt, spend the time to try it jist do a partial and its amazing. I bought a mini air blower on amazon instead of using my real blowdryer so its faster.

I use it instead of teasing the hair for my clients with thinner hair.

I’ll never understand that technique. I’m never going to pick up my blow dryer that frequently for a highlight lol

I love it, it’s super blended, esp for lvl 3 hair. Able to get close to roots. great technique for fragile hair, avoids overlapping previous highlights since you’re picking up the same sections and can see the demarcation lines clearer. Con: time consuming, takes me 2 hrs to foil for that blended airtouch look so I do it occasionally,

Also genuine question because I’ve never understood this either are we using hot air on our clients hair? Like are we adding some more heat damage before we put bleach on it?

changed my foil life 🥰🥰 it's cleaner with a blowdrier than shaking it out. it's perfect for blondes that have grown out and want a blended look. here is before

because predictable results come from precision. understanding texture type and density leads you to know what techniques serve each one best. the devil is in the details. 😬😅🥰

I felt the same till I tried it. I have only done it a few times and will not do it often, but it definitely served a purpose. You can find your same section again perfectly to retouch. Also when you are doing your own highlights it easier to blend. Easy comb out than teasing too. I also used it to reverse the process to lowlight the short hairs. Basically a root stretch, but more blendy and seamless. I have a before and after on that.

It truly does give the softest grow out. i would have never believed it if I hadn't got an air touch, highlight on myself. but it's great 🥰

Little handheld air compressors work really well. It is NOT the same is balayage. I personally think a hand painted balayage has a distinct look compared to air touch or teasy lights. It gives a really pretty low maintenance blend

It’s blendy af but it is also very time consuming. Now I only use it for clients who get too tangly or are too tender headed for teasing.

It’s a way to offer a variety of color services (highlights/lowlights/both) without having to tease the hair. It’s supposedly a way to make your service more luxury and specialized in the technique (niche). It doesn’t tangle the hair as much so the brush out process is easier

The only time I think it’s worth it is when Guy Tang described it. You can keep blowing out more and more hairs to do multi-tone, lowlights, highlights and another color, etc
