as a Transit operator it's impossible to just randomly drive off and leave passengers. it requires for the operator to give 100% attention to the traffic to the left. Transit operators have to observe the traffic and merge whenever it's safe to do so. it may look like we're purposely waiting but we're actually studying the traffic to merge in. I understand that's your perception from the outside

Bus drivers are on a tight schedule. If they wait for passengers past the time even if it’s a few seconds…the next trip will always run late. Those passengers will now be late because the driver waited for the previous passenger to get on the bus. Every second and minute matters. It’s not the drivers fault it’s the transit planners fault for making the timing points unrealistic to the current traffic out there. All transit schedules for every company like Brampton, Mississauga, ttc, and go transit are all the same! Unrealistic schedules due to traffic.

You should be a bus driver. If a driver wait for 2 sec every hour how will they make there schedule for people who are actually waiting at bus stop. Life is unfair for all of us.

When I first moved to Brampton 26 years ago I had to use the bus with my baby in a stroller n the driver never helped me lift the stroller n no one helped. Trust me that’s the first n last day i used Brampton transit

Transit Operator here! If I hadn’t pulled off from the stop and I see someone there I will wait especially if it’s in the winter months from December to February. There are other factors to consider also with driving a bus such as blind spots. There so many blind spots on these buses so it’s possible that the passenger wasn’t visible to the driver. And as I’ve seen mentioned in the comments they may be delayed. That’s why it’s recommended to be there up to 5 minutes early to ensure that they don’t miss the bus.

I have seen it many time and felt so sad for the people especially in the winter. I even saw one lady took her shoes off and started running and the driver drove off as she meet the door. I was so upset with that
