@billyvsco: Sometimes The hardest part of parenting isn't loving your kids. It's trusting them. Because trust feels risky. But so does raising kids who only tell you what you want to hear. Connection builds trust. Control destroys it #LoveStrongParenting #ConnectionOverControl #Parenting #RaisingTeens #trustme
I wish my parents were like this, they watch mostly everything I do cuz of a parent app bru

Today, my daughter who’s 20 was afraid to tell me something about school. I could hear it in her voice before she even said anything. I said it’s gonna be OK no matter what. I love you. We’re gonna get through it. I might get pissy about it. But you know what in the end it’s your life. I’m just here to guide you. I love you for involving me. Let’s get through it together. She told me crying that she wish all of her college friends had parents that just understood how hard it was instead of making them feel like losers when they make mistakes. And I’m talking valedictorians., major sports stars in college and very, very smart people who are extremely rich, whose parents dog them constantly. Kids need parents who have empathy and patience to understand how hard it is for them. And I don’t care if they have money or not doesn’t matter. I am so grateful that my daughter opened up to me today. And I’m so happy that you have taught me to be patient and understanding and remember how it was when we were their age. I know this is a TikTok account and your famous, but your kids will always value you.

My son knows that I looked through his phone. He knows that that is a requirement to him having the phone so there’s no violation of trust if I’ve explained that is part of the responsibility in the process of having a phone is that I have to to look through it and make sure everything‘s OK. He understands that he’s just now learning how to make choices and make decisions and trust me. He’s already gotten it wrong enough that he knows he can’t do this on his own he hast to have some help and all teenagers do so saying don’t look at their phone because of blah blah blah don’t ask them who they’re hanging around or don’t do this at death. That’s insane. It’s all about how you go to it if you’re sneaky about it that’s different but if you just make it clear that this is what you’re going to do and all then there’s no surprise there’s no distrust.

remember something my mom did I still think about today was she sat me down and asked if I was okay because I hadn't been acting myself and she was worried but didn't want to snoop or introvine yet because in the past that was a bad combo I still love her for this because it helped me realize how much my abusive ex who I choose to bring back into my life after my mom originally cut contact with the help of my ex's guarden changed who I was

I hated when my mom went through my phone, I felt like I had no privacy until I changed my password and refused to tell her what it was. She stopped invading my privacy but I now struggle with trusting her with even the smallest thing :/
