@moneycoachdave: My Roth IRA After 8 Years of Consistency! Most people would leave this out… but, this did not come from me magically 5X’ing my Roth IRA contributions by picking perfect stocks. A big part of this balance came from rolling over old Roth 401Ks from previous employers. The actual strategy has been boring: Max it when I can. Buy low-cost broad-market ETFs. Stay invested. Roll old retirement accounts forward. Repeat. Not flashy. Not complicated. But it works. How old were you when you opened your Roth IRA? #RothIRA #Investing #WealthBuilding #PersonalFinance #FinancialLiteracy

Every week I saved $5 for a total of $260 but after a year I have a balance of $500,000. Not just from the $260, I also made a deposit of $499k but let's ignore that for now and focus on the balance. wth

This is what I’ve done. Started around 24 I think. I’m 33 now and what I’ve put it has more than doubled and toward the last few years I haven’t contributed max. I’m on schedule to have a million by retirement so I fund non retirement accounts now to retire even earlier than 59

So if you just did the roth without any rollovers or anything, what do you think you would have as a balance? I'm 10 years in with a Roth almost maxing out and at around 100,000
