The word I use is „textured“. Places that feel alive are full of diverse, organic visual textures — patina, funny angles, a great variety of shapes, outlines, colourings, materials and textured surfaces. In lifeless places you see more blank, sparsely textured surface area, unnaturally clean angles, little to no patina or variety in shapes.

I'd say the second feels more uncanny because there are no signs of life (human, animal or plant), that doesn't feel very welcoming. Also at first glance seems like the silouhette is composed by straight lines only, very homogeneus, rather than the mix of angles and curves in the first example, more chaotic but also more diverse, kinda looks like life itself (?). Hope it makes sense!

Because one was built by humans by hand for humans to truly be a part of, live in, use. the second one is designed by corporations for someone to make a lot of money from. No human joy is a part of the process in building the second buildings.
