Not necessarily a head gasket u need to find u a real mechanic not whatever that was cause coolant in ur oil can be many things on a big rig from a air compressor to water pump housing to liner’s injector or injector cup but a REAL MECHANIC can do tests to determine where the problem is and if that motor has almost a million or more on it it’s time for a new truck those dd15 aren’t worth rebuilding to technical and expensive not like a cat or Cummins hope this helps u got any questions hit me up I work on all trucks and drive good luck

That's not necessarily the head gasket. I had two of those same trucks both engines went the same way. Oil is coming up in the coolant reservoir. Both times that happened the miles on the truck were 899,995, and the other was 950,000 they both were the coolant liner. I rebuilt both of them years ago, for $15,000 the other one 18,000 they both run very well after the rebuild I sold the first one because of the def issues. The other I deleted it and was running good then an asshole flipped my truck over in Plymouth Indiana it was total. They're not bad trucks if you take care of those engines and change the oil pick-up tube in the oil pan every 1000,000 miles. They often cause damage to the engine. I had premium 2000 warranty back then. So they cover 75% of both repairs.
