I think largely the biggest thing we’ve learned from them is that almost all of our assumptions about attraction and compatibility are just wrong. But also, worse experience translates to more time in the app and wouldn’t it be terrible if they lost their customer base because the thing actually worked

the apps are a great platform for folk that can be very specific and honest about themselves, intentions,expectations and so on. The problem is when bots were added for interaction and AI training. Then the ideologs logged in in mass doxing and shaming making what was safe a place of fear and mistrust.

The problem isn't that the algorithms failed, it's that they intentionally broke them and limited access. An effective matchmaking algorithm won't have repeat business, you can't continuously extract value from folks if that need gets met. It's a scam.
