The sleep deprivation 😩 so many sports, music, church etc. We weren’t allowed to nap. My only escape was reading. They could take everything away from me and I didn’t care because I could reread books and play movies in my head.

my mom HATED seeing me relax growing up, even if I did ALL my chores, did all my homework and/or had an off day from my part time job in highschool, she would be SO upset if i was sitting around or asleep .. i remember one time i was taking a nap after a long day of classes and she slammed the door open to my bedroom saying “you have nothing to be tired over, get up and stop being lazy”
