the issue is that people are using “diversity” and “black representation” as if they’re the same thing. they’re not. black representation is part of diversity, not the entire definition of it. pointing out that other ethnic minorities exist isn’t erasing black women, it’s acknowledging that diversity includes everyone ?? idk how people don’t understand that

It’s a bit tone deaf in my opinion, it’s not just about diversity but also getting people on the show that are actually open to dating all types of people regardless of their race, which is the main issue that people are pointing out. It’s becoming a regular occurrence time and time again on love island when black women are singled out every season. All love island UK cares about is ticking the diversity box not actually tackling the issue
