@bekburke: When I first started training bottle walking en pointe there was VERY little material or inspiration to go off of, and a lot was very old. One of the only videos I found was from the 1950s. I really only had my experience as a circus artist and the foundation of strong ballet training that I was very lucky to receive when I was younger. A wonderful thing about being one of the very few people to have decided to start developing this skill I’ve been able to have the privilege of helping to establish a vocabulary. One that’s currently being used by other performers now and will be used by others for years to come. I honestly feel lucky to have been at the forefront purely because it’s been a thrill thinking of an idea (or ideas others have had for me, thanks dad 😂), believing it must be impossible because I’d never seen someone else do it, and then achieving it! Along with this I’ve also had the opportunity to play with my own visual style and movement within the vocabulary in order to make it my own and I hope as this discipline grows others will also feel inspired to do the same! #ballettok #pointeshoes @Nike
