This video and response completely misses the point of the original creator. The problem isn’t financial illiteracy or people having low paying jobs. It’s that wages have not kept up with the rising cost of housing, healthcare, education, etc. When a majority of the people are unable to live a stable life and have to live paycheck to paycheck, that’s not an individual failure it’s a systemic one. Capitalism priorities profits and wealth accumulation over a workers quality of life.

Don’t have kids. Life is affordable if you budget and don’t have kids. We have been priced out of kids. I need to house multiple family members bc they are worse off than me.

People keep spreading all these false narratives about the economy being so horrible. Yes things are more costly but people are not struggling. People are spending on more on nonessential items so that means people can afford groceries.

it's really simple to follow but most people won't make this sacrifices and put in the effort... remember in the last 10 years we have basically doubled the money supply...

Financial literacy is very necessary - I agree - AND stitching this to a video that is calling out systematic inequity is messed up. Both things are true but not equal. Financial lit encourages people to control what’s in front of them, but the core issues are systemic. This response transfers all responsibility to individuals, and is complicit in its neglect of inequity. Reform must be demanded. We see people better off is less wealthy countries and recognize it doesn’t have to be this way. Calling this ‘complaining’ is condescending, it defends systemic inequity, and undermines the attempt to educate.

Cruises are packed. Airports/flights are constantly packed. Disney world is so full there is no slow time anymore. People participate in all kinds of luxury activities. The we are struggling is a narrative that isn’t jiving with the societal actions taking place. There are be some people truly struggling to cover their basic necessities but it is not the majority.
