The thing is Platner can still win the primary and not be the nominee. Under Maine law after the primary he has until July 13th to drop out. If he does then the state party can nominate anyone they want. So we have up to a month of discourse around if he should drop out or not

The deciding factor came down to how- 1 this isnt new, the wife and him dealt with this before the campaign 2 it was leaked by the same irate campaign leader who tried to make the tattoo scandal worse than it was when she quit last year 3 She willingly told the campaign staff to prepare them and not hide it from those working with them People really try to make it sound so much worse than it really is

I’m a leftist who would never in a million years vote for Platner. You cannot ever criticize the republicans for nazism while you encourage people to vote for a Nazi which you only excuse because he’s a Democrat. Stuff like this is when I realize both parties are exactly the same. There is zero chance any of you would believe a man with a Nazi tattoo “didn’t know” if he was a Republican. Both parties are the same and yall deserve Trump at this point.

He’s also talked about this a lot. He came back from Iraq with PTSD and dealt with it with alcohol and toxicity. He’s admitted he was a bad partner. He’s admitted that he was a mean, misogynistic, violent man. Then he got sober, went to therapy, got involved in his community, deconstructed his beliefs, and took accountability for who he was before. Now, he’s this person. And this person is exactly what we need in the senate.
