Maybe give the door a lock and the wrestlers have to find the key in random turnbuckle or something to unlock the door or have it unlock after a timer

Mmm, not necessarily. The point in a steel cage when it get to that stipulation is for not interference from outside or at least to be more difficult for the interference. The option to win from walking out give more room for the match to be planing spot.

I feel like the door finish should be saved for Heels. Either to show their arrogance/dominance or in turn their cowardice by having a chicken shit heel sneak a victory by escaping from the more powerful babyface
