the second he crossed onto school grounds with the knife he was in violation of school code of conduct. That small but important code literally destroys the self defense claim. you can't break the law knowingly and then claim self defense. Had this been in public circumstances may have been different. but clearly with the time line their was intent.

STM, as you know here in Texas you can not claim self-defense while committing a crime. He brought a prohibited weapon, the knife, on to school property and that is a felony. And the knife was already open and ready to use. He never put his bag down. He had his hand in the bag ready to pull it out. The 6kids who were in the tent with them said Austin pushed him as he was stabbed. He 1000% premeditated that.

The minute you try to run. You have ruined any self defense case you could have. To be self defense you need to remain on scene call 911. And render aide if possibly safe. Running away is not self defense. That is guilty actions. You remain on scene and wait for the authorities
